Goldfish Swim School to open in Germantown
Kids can safely splash into summer this year with the help of the new Germantown Goldfish Swim School.
By late spring, infants, toddlers and children will be able to learn the basics of swimming and pool safety at Goldfish Swim School, 2011 Exeter Road, the first Memphis-area location.
“The Goldfish Swim School Germantown team understands how important water safety is to Memphis-area families and we are thrilled to bring the Goldfish curriculum, high quality instruction and state-of-the-art facility to families in this community,” the company’s news release said.
Michigan-based Goldfish Swim School offers year-round, indoor swim classes with trained instructors for kids 4 months to 12 years old. Each class allows a maximum of four students per instructor, 90-degree pools and a water purification system.
Families can enroll at anytime with Goldfish, which offers flexible scheduling options and free makeup lessons.
Founded by husband and wife Chris and Jenny Mccuiston, Goldfish also provides family swims for members and non-members along with party packages.
“Drowning remains the number one cause of accidental death for kids under age four,” the release said. “The Goldfish team is committed to changing this statistic by providing swim lessons and water safety education to local families. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that children participate in regular, high quality swim lessons starting at age one.”
Lessons at the school begin in late spring, and families can register now online at www.goldfishswimschool.com or by calling (901) 641-1797.
The school is in the process of expanding throughout North America, with more than 110 schools open and 130-plus in development across the United States and Canada.
