GERMANTOWN - Ann Messink Ross, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandmothe­r passed away April 16, 2022. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Kelsey and Katherine Messink and her husband Dr. Richard Travis (Dick) Ross “Sweetie”.

She is survived by her children, Travis Sheley (Brandon), Todd Ross and Tim Ross (Jeanne), her sister Kay Sears, grandchild­ren Richard Ross, Tim Ross, Jr and Kindall Ross (fiancée Sam Akers) and Jeanne’s daughter Allison Miller.

Ann was born in Vidalia, Georgia in 1930. She graduated with honors from Vidalia High School and Wesleyan College. A gifted linguist, Ann taught world languages in several school districts while Dick completed his education. The two settled in Memphis in 1956 and began a rich life devoted to God, family and community.

Ann was a member of Christ United Methodist Church where she and Dick founded “The Seekers” Sunday School class. She was an active member of United Methodist Women, “WOW” Women of the Word, numerous outreach missions and Bible studies.

Her accolades and honors were numerous and she remained a quiet and humble servant. A woman of great faith, Ann was a friend, mentor and encourager to many. She lived a well-traveled life and leaves a passport of friends across the globe. She is lovingly remembered by all who knew her and will greatly be missed by many.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Baddour Center, American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Adult Day Centers.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 22 at 9:30 AM at Christ United Methodist Church with a service to follow at 10:30 AM. Graveside will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home at 12:00 PM followed by a reception.
