Barbara Jane Sippel

MEMPHIS - Barbara Jane Sippel, 71, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022. Barbara was born to the parents of Robert L. Uebele and Anne P. Uebele in Minneapolis, MN and was one of five children. She grew up in West Bend, WI and after graduation went on to receive a bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising with a minor in Business Administration at University of Wisconsin-stout. After marrying and raising her children, she went on to work at J.c.penney, Covington Pike Honda, and Acura of Memphis.

She was an avid walker for various charities in Memphis. She loved swimming and was a life guard and swimming instructor. She enjoyed bicycle rides, working in the garden, and later in life discovered her passion for skydiving. She also played the piano, organ, and clarinet from fifth grade through college. Her greatest joy was taking care of her children and grandson. She later dusted off her clarinet to play with the Bartlett Community Concert Band.

She is survived by her sister, Laurel Williams of Wautoma, WI, and brothers, Robert M. Uebele and wife Kathy of Austin, TX, William Uebele and wife Laurie of Carmel, IN, and Craig Uebele of Dallas, TX. She is further survived by her most amazing treasures, her son, Brian Sippel, retired Msgt, USAF, his wife, Krissi, and her most beloved grandson, Jaxson of Clinton, UT as well as her truly amazing daughter, Anne Sippel of Memphis, TN.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held Saturday, June 25th at Harmony Church of Bartlett at 6740 St. Elmo Road in Bartlett, TN. Visitation will begin at 2:00pm with services beginning at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Barbara’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
