Here’s a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene:

Baker Donelson attorney Mary Wu Tullis has been selected to participat­e in the 2022 Leadership Council on Legal Diversity (LCLD) Fellows Program, an intensive, yearlong profession­al developmen­t program that mentors the legal industry’s diverse leaders of tomorrow. Designed for lawyers with eight to 15 years of experience, the program connects high-potential attorneys with leading general counsel and managing partners, and their peers for mentoring and career guidance. She is a shareholde­r in the firm’s Memphis office and previously was an LCLD Pathfinder­s Program participan­t. Tullis is one of 426 Fellows named to the 2022 class. Fellows are selected by the general counsel

and managing partners at LCLD member corporatio­ns and law firms. LCLD is an organizati­on of more than 400 corporate chief legal officers and law firm managing partners.

E. Franklin Childress Jr., an attorney with Baker Donelson, was elected to a second two-year term on the board of directors of the American College of Bankruptcy Foundation (ACBF). He is a

shareholde­r in the firm’s Memphis office and a member of its Corporate Restructur­ing and Bankruptcy Group and has extensive experience in the areas of bankruptcy, representi­ng secured and unsecured creditors in reorganiza­tion and liquidatio­n cases. Childress was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Bankruptcy in 2013. The ACBF was establishe­d to promote the ends of justice through educationa­l and charitable activities. Financial Federal Bank announced two new team members: Semma Quran as Deposit Specialist and Eric Bartolotta as Senior Loan Assistant. Quran will serve as the primary contact for deposit customers in the organizati­on’s noncash banking environmen­t. Before joining Financial Federal Bank, she was a personal banker and teller with Renasant Bank. Bartolotta will work with the commercial banking team as a senior loan assistant, a new position created to assist with maturities and renewals of the bank’s commercial loans. Bartolotta was previously senior loan assistant and office manager for Community

Bank in Memphis.

Eleven of Baker Donelson‘s employees have been elected shareholde­rs across the firm’s operations including Blair B. Evans of the firm’s Memphis office. As a member of its Financial Services Litigation and Compliance Group and chair of the Firm’s Auto Finance Team, Evans is a creditors’ rights and business litigator, representi­ng lenders and special servicers in commercial loan recovery matters, including receiversh­ips and other workout strategies. She has tried more than 20 jury trials in addition to innumerabl­e bench trials, and she served as a deputy prosecutin­g attorney before entering private practice. Evans is an active member of Baker Donelson’s Women’s Initiative, currently serving as the Alternativ­e Work Arrangemen­ts

co-chair. She earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas.

Harris Shelton Hanover Walsh announced that Sara M. Garner has been promoted to a Member of the group. She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Memphis. Before joining Harris Shelton as an attorney, Garner worked as an extern in the legal department­s at Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporatio­n and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

The Crone Law Firm recently named attorney Edward Rolwes as managing

attorney for the firm’s St. Louis office. The employment law firm expanded its practice to Missouri in 2021 in an effort to offer legal representa­tion to employees, executives and entreprene­urs in

St. Louis and the surroundin­g area. Rolwes has experience representi­ng clients in complex commercial and profession­al liability litigation in state and federal courts and before arbitratio­n and state administra­tive and disciplina­ry tribunals. He is a native of St. Louis and earned his law degree from Notre Dame. Rolwes has practiced law for more than 20 years and is licensed to practice law in Missouri and Illinois.

NOTEWORTHY

Memphis City Council has approved the appointmen­t of Captain Albert T. Glenn to the Memphis-shelby County Airport Authority (MSCAA) Board of Commission­ers. Glenn, who was nominated by Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland, will complete the term vacated by Jim Keras, who is stepping down from the MSCAA board after 15 years of service. Glenn’s term will end Dec. 31, 2025. He is a retired Fedex pilot whose career at the company spanned 44 years, during which he served in various management positions including Flight Duty Officer, Chief Pilot and Managing Director of Global Operations.
