Top girls players to watch this postseason
The Division I and II girls high school basketball playoffs begin this week with district tournaments taking place. Over the next few weeks, a district, region and sectional champion will be crowned ahead of the Division I state tournaments.
As the playoffs begin, here’s a look at the top girls basketball players to watch this postseason.
Anna Lee Avery, Houston, Jr.: Avery is averaging nearly 20 points per game this season for the Mustangs.
Takera Bland, Westwood, Sr.: Bland is averaging 24 points per game this season with Westwood.
Shun Bobo, Trezevant, Sr.: Bobo is averaging 17.9 points per game and 11.4 rebounds per game this season with Trezevant.
Reneiya Brigance, Westwood, Jr.: Brigance is averaging 26 points for the Longhorns this season.
Kayli Clarkson, Briarcrest, Sr.:
Clarkson is averaging 18.6 points per game this season with the Saints.
Mallory Collier, Bartlett, Sr.: Collier,
a Miss Basketball finalist, is averaging 12.2 points per game this season for the Panthers.
Justice Dunlap, Hillcrest, So.: Dunlap is averaging 19 points per game this season for the Vikings.
Tierney Kelsey, Arlington, Jr.: Kelsey has played a key role in helping the Tigers to the No. 2 seed in the District 15-4A tournament. She was named to the all-district first team.
Sydnei Marshall, Fayette-ware, Sr.: Marshall is averaging 16 points per game this season with the Wildcats.
Emmie Moore, Fayette Academy, Sr.: Moore is averaging 16 points per game for the Vikings this season.
Teniya Morant, Houston, Sr.: Morant is averaging more than 10 points per game this season for the Mustangs.
Daejah Richmond, FACS, Sr.: Richmond is averaging more than 20 points per game this season with the Crusaders.
