Bartlett, last remaining area team, rides 11-game win streak

The Bartlett girls basketball team is the final Memphis-area team standing in the postseason. The Panthers begin their state tournament run this week and look to win the school's first ever state title.

They remain the area's No. 1 team in the rankings, but where did the rest of the area's team finish after the region tournament­s, sectional round and Division II girls tournament last week?

1. Bartlett (32-7): The Panthers are one of the area's hottest teams, winning their last 11. Seniors Nevaeh Scott, Raven Sims and Mallory Collier have played a big role in the success this postseason.

2. Briarcrest (26-5): The Saints' season ended in the Division II-AA semifinals against state champion Ensworth, despite a 34-point performanc­e from Kayli Clarkson.

3. Fayette-ware (28-7): The Wildcats' season ended in the sectional round with a 61-59 loss to Dyer County on Saturday night.

4. Whitehaven (25-4): The Tigers fell to Clarksvill­e in the sectional round on Saturday, one game shy of the state tournament.

5. Arlington (20-8): Arlington's season ended last Monday against Whitehaven in the Region 8-4A semifinals. Tierney Kelsey led all scorers, finishing with 23 points in Arlington's final game of the season.

6. Colliervil­le (13-12): The Dragons' season ended in the Region 8-4A semifinals in an 81-68 loss to Bartlett. Hilary Shikuku led all scorers in the game with 34 points.

7. Middle College (19-4): Peabody defeated Middle College in Saturday's 1A sectional round, 53-49.

8. Westwood (18-5): The Longhorns' suffered their second straight loss, this time against Dresden to end their season in the 1A sectional round Saturday.

9. Hillcrest (19-6): The Vikings' season ended in the sectional round in a 65-22 loss to Riverside.

10. Houston (19-10): The Mustangs' season ended in the Region 8-4A quarterfin­als.
