Obituaries Richard Lyn Ennis
CORDOVA - Richard
Lyn Ennis, 77, of Memphis, Tennessee, passed away on August 17,
2023. Born on February
18, 1946, Richard was a
Godly man who lived his life guided by the principles of Micah 6:8, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And, what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.” This verse shaped every aspect of his life, from his relationships with family and friends, to his work and his faith.
As a devoted husband and father, Richard was a pillar of strength and love. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gina and their children: Rich, Rob (Ashley), John (Tia) and Mary. Richard is also survived by his grandchildren: Wheaton, Emeri, Lyla, Jack and George, his brother Ken (Gwen) and his brothers-in-law George Dahnke (Barbara) and Bill Dahnke. He was preceded in death by his father, Wheaton Ennis and his mother, Maudine “Dink” Ennis.
Richard was a graduate of Treadwell High School, Southwestern College and attended medical school at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. He completed his residency at Campbell Clinic Orthopedics. Richard, a dedicated physician, was committed to providing compassionate care to any and all who entered his practice.
Despite having a busy practice, Richard cherished moments with his family and always made time for his children and grandchildren. He also loved spending time outdoors, riding the old tractor and mowing grass at the family farm.
Join us in celebrating Richard’s life Monday, August 21, at Advent Presbyterian Church, located at 1897 North Germantown Parkway, Cordova, TN 38016. Visitation will take place from 1 to 3 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Salvation Army of Memphis, the Mid-south Food Bank or Advent Presbyterian Church.
Richard will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of kindness, generosity and devotion will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. May he rest in peace.
