Here's a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene :

Dr. Robert Davis III has joined the staff of the Schools of Perea as executive director. Previously, he was principal of Belle Forest Community School, which was recently recognized as a Tennessee Reward School for the 2021-22 school year. He holds a master's degree in teaching from the University of Memphis and received his certificat­ion in School Turnaround from Harvard University. At Freed-hardeman University he earned his educationa­l specialist degree and doctorate in education. Davis has been an educator for 25 years.

Commitment to educating the community about financial literacy earned State Farm its 15th Bronzeleve­l U.S. President's Volunteer Service Award. The award resulted from associate volunteer efforts nationwide with Junior Achievemen­t USA. In Memphis and Mid-south Tennessee, State Farm supported JA through funding for financial literacy initiative­s. Local volunteers engage with K-12 students through handson programs related to financial literacy, career readiness and entreprene­urship.

The Carter Malone Group announced Jennifer Sharp has joined the firm as the public relations manager. She joins CMG with nearly 10 years of public relations and communicat­ions experience. Sharp previously served as the strategic communicat­ions specialist for Shelby County Government. She received her master's degree in journalism and strategic media from the University of Memphis.

The Tennessee Action Coalition recently named

Amanda Wroblewski, director of Cardiovasc­ular Services at Saint Francis Hospital-memphis, as a 2023 Tennessee Rising Star Nurse Leader award recipient. She was among other young nurse leaders statewide acknowledg­ed with the honor. The goal of the program is to engage and empower young nurses to lead the profession in improving the health of Tennessean­s.

Brandon Eckenrode has been named executive director of the Collision Repair Education Foundation. He joined the foundation's team as associate director of Developmen­t in 2009 before becoming director of Developmen­t from 2012 through 2021. Eckenrode has been managing director the past two years.

Castle Connolly recently named Campbell Clinic as a Center of Excellence, a distinctio­n held by only 26 medical practices and five orthopaedi­c groups in the nation. Campbell Clinic is the only orthopaedi­c group from outside the Northeast to receive this designatio­n. Castle Connolly notes that its Centers of Excellence program showcases select hospitals and group practices within their database to share informatio­n on services and recognitio­ns to better inform patients and caregivers when making treatment decisions. Castle Connolly is widely known for its peer-nominated, researcher-vetted Top Doctors List.

Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare added a new breast surgical oncologist to its Methodist Cancer Institute in the Memphis Medical District. Ryland J. Gore will practice at the Methodist Comprehens­ive Breast Centers in Midtown and Germantown. She is a board-certified physician and completed a fellowship in breast oncology from Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., and an integrated general surgery residency from Rush University Medical Center and John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, both in Chicago. Gore earned a master's degree from The George Washington University and a doctorate from Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.

Diversifie­d Trust comprehens­ive wealth management firm, headquarte­red in Memphis, announced Collins Brown will join the Atlanta office as Principal, Senior Wealth Strategist and will serve as a corporate, firmwide resource for the firm. He most recently served as a Partner at Smith, Gambrell & Russell law firm, where he was a member of the Trust & Estate, Tax and Corporate groups. Brown earned his J.D. (Juris Doctor) from the University of South Carolina and his LL.M. (Master of Laws) from the University of Florida.
