Hurley says she ‘felt comfortable’ filming sex scene directed by son

Most parents talk to their kids about the birds and the bees. But Elizabeth Hurley had a more cinematic experience.

The actress opened up during an interview with People magazine published Wednesday about filming a sex scene in the upcoming film “Strictly Confidential.” The Lionsgate crime drama is written and directed by her son, 21-year-old Damian Hurley.

“People are making a lot of fuss,” Hurley told the magazine. “I think there's a lot of factors making it a particularly interesting scene for people.”

One of the factors Hurley cited was the creative involvement of her son Damian. But the “Austin Powers” star said filming the intimate scene wasn't awkward for the mother-son pair.

“There actually isn't any nudity,” said Hurley of the film's “daring” moments. “Nobody's exploited at all. We all felt comfortable doing it.”

Following the film's completion, Damian gave a sweet shout-out to Hurley for her contribution to the movie in a

December 2022 Instagram post, calling Hurley his “beautiful and supreme mother.”

Majors’ motion to dismiss assault, harassment convictions denied

A judge has denied Jonathan Majors' motion to dismiss his conviction on assault and harassment charges for attacking his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, in the back of a car last March.

Judge Michael Gaffey's decision was filed Monday, according to a court document obtained Wednesday by USA TODAY.

The Marvel star is set to be sentenced next Monday.

“Jonathan feels disappointed by the outcome of the motion, yet he upholds respect for the process. He continues to draw strength from his friends, fans, family, and dogs, harnessing his art and creativity,” his defense lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, said in a statement shared with USA TODAY on Wednesday.

The defense filed a motion on Feb. 5 to set aside the Dec. 18 verdict, which convicted Majors of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree. The judge reviewed the motion, as well as prosecutors' filing opposing the move and Majors' attorneys' response, before denying the request.
