SOMERVILLE - Jimmy L. Lamb, 92, passed away April 7, 2024 in Somerville, Tennessee. He was born in Corinth, Mississipp­i. He graduated from Treadwell High School in 1951. He was in the United States Airforce. He worked and retired from Massey Ferguson. Jimmy was a passionate supporter of Ole Miss Football, cheering on his beloved team with unwavering enthusiasm through every game. Golf was not just a hobby for him; it was a way of life. He found solace and joy on the greens every day, mastering the sport with dedication and skill. He had a green thumb and found comfort in working in his yard and tending to his beloved flowers. His love for nature was evident in every bloom and blade of grass he nurtured.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Eula and Eber Lamb, as well as his loving wife, Shirley Lamb. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Reba Ambrose, and brother, Billy Lamb.

He is survived by his daughter, Toni L. Duke (Tim). He is also survived by his 2 granddaugh­ters, Lauren E. Thornburg (Ryan), Kristina G. Duke (Josh), and 1 great-grandson, Hudson D. Thornburg, who brought him immense joy and pride.

His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family and friends, but his legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Rest in peace, Jimmy Lewis Lamb. Your laughter, love, and legacy will forever be cherished and remembered.

A visitation for Jimmy will be held Friday, April 12, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Family Funeral Care, 4925 Summer Ave, Memphis, TN 38122. Following the visitation will be a graveside from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Memphis Memory Gardens, 6444 Raleigh Lagrange Rd, Memphis, TN 38134. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society.
