Four popcorn boxes for ‘Ghostbusters’

- By David Daniels Columnist

Who ya gonna call? For those of a certain age, the question has only one answer, that is synonymous with 1980s pop-culture “Ghostbusters!!”

Several decades have passed since the original theatrical release was a smash hit, spawning an equally well-received sequel, merchandise galore, and an animated television series, not to mention making the phrase “I got slimed” acceptable to use in everyday conversation.

The premise for this remake is similar to the original, but has been updated for a new generation of potential fans.

This time around the Ghostbusting team is made up of 4 women, each of whom possess a unique talent from paranormal expertise to highly dangerous and accurate knowledge of cutting edge technology and weapons.

Elements of horror and comedy are blended together, as the Ghostbusters take on a disenfranchised character who hatches a plan to release all of the evil spirits and ghosts in the world into the city of New York.

Only the Ghostbusters have the ability to save humanity and downtown Manhattan.

“Ghostbusters” runs 1 hour and 56 minutes, is rated PG-13, and stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth. Rodeo’s Review: I would give this movie 4 popcorn boxes because there are girls as the main stars. I also like this movie since there are different monsters that I have never seen. This movie is also good because there is a lot of green sticky slime. That’s why I loved the new “Ghost busters” movie.

Rodeo would like to say thanks to Carmike Cinemas, and Michael Noecker at The Reading Fairgrounds Square Mall Digiplex Cinema.
