Steel River Playhouse presents ‘Peter and the Starcatcher’
A magical show of madcap fun is coming to Pottstown as Steel River Playhouse brings “Peter and the Starcatcher” to the stage. Opening Friday, Sept. 30, the multiple Tony Awardwinning play with music kicks off the 2016-2017 season.
This swashbuckling prequel to “Peter Pan” will have you hooked from the moment you let your imagination take flight. An apprentice Starcatcher and an orphan boy take to the high seas in this whimsical origin story of “The Boy Who Never Grew Up.” A company of a dozen actors play more than a hundred unforgettable characters, all on a journey to answer the centuryold question: How did Peter Pan become The Boy Who Never Grew Up? This epic origin story of popular culture’s most enduring and beloved character proves that your imagination is the most captivating place in the world.
“Peter and the Starcatcher” is an innovative and imaginative comedy by Rick Elice based on the best-selling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson with music by Wayne Barker.
Directed by Jay Gilman, “Peter and the Starcatcher” runs through Oct. 16 with a total of 11 performances.
