Spirit days help foster the love of reading

- — Submitted by Schwenksville Elementary School

Dr. Seuss’ birthday and Read Across America were celebrated the week of Feb. 27 at Schwenksville Elementary School. Spirit days included wearing red and white, unique socks, hats off to reading, Grinchiest green, and wearing clothes inspired by your favorite Dr. Seuss character. Students who participate in the spirit days were given raffle tickets for chances to win books. Over 70 books donated by Schwenksville Elementary staff were given to students.

The students also participated in “Reading Buddy” time where older grades paired up with younger grades for students to read to each other.
