Lower Pottsgrove police noted during the Commissioners meeting May 1 that several investigations took place during April.

Officers noted at the meeting on May 1 that the department charged Corey Omar Ford, 29, of Lower Pottsgrove after an incident on April 14 led them to the area of Rolling Hills Apartments. Police say they were called to the area for a report of a suspicious silver minivan that was occupied by a man in possession of a gun. Officers arrived and after locating the vehicle, found that it had been occupied by four men.

Police said there had been a strong odor of marijuana coming from the car and that officers witnessed “marijuana cigars and packaging” inside the vehicle. Police conducted a search of the vehicle and found a black .22 caliber handgun and several packages of marijuana. Police then had a warrant issued for Ford’s arrest.

Police said Ford failed to turn himself in after he was notified of the warrant.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is requested to contact Lower Pottsgrove Police at 610326-1508.

Police also cited a second incident in which suspects have not been apprehended that took place two days later at Rolling Hills Apartments.

On April 16 at around 10:50 p.m., officers were called to the area of 115 Rolling Hills for a reported domestic incident, according to police reports. When police arrived on the scene, several groups of suspects unrelated to the incident police had been investigating, began yelling obscenities at officers. Shortly after, the individuals began throwing objects at officers and their vehicles. No police were injured but reports indicate that an object hit one of the police cars causing damage to the paint. Officers found that the objects being thrown were AA batteries.

Police were unable to identify the suspects and are following up with video surveillance from the apartment complex.

Anyone with information on the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Lower Pottsgrove Police.

A road rage incident was the third investigation from April police cited at the Commissioners meeting. Police said on April 27, officers responded to a report of a man with a knife at 190 N. Pleasant View Road. A man had been driving a blue SUV and was involved in a road rage incident on High Street. He then followed the victim to his home where he pulled a knife during a confrontation, police said.

The man was identified by the victim and witnesses as Evan Lantrip, 19, of Sanatoga. Police arrested Lantrip on charges of misdemeanor simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.
