at Welkinweir, 1368 Prizer Road, Pottstown. Pack a picnic dinner and enjoy free family fun Wednesday evenings at a local public garden and nature preserve this summer! Each evening features a guided nature walk at 6:30 p.m. around the ponds at Welkinweir to enjoy the serene evening views and to search for abundant wildlife such as owls, beaver, and fireflies. No registration is required. This event series is free, but donations are appreciated. The event is held rain or shine and is open to guests of all ages. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Welkinweir is located at 1368 Prizer Road, near Pughtown PA in East Nantmeal Township. June 24 Summer Camp Open House: The Vagabond Performing Arts Academy at Steel River Playhouse will hold an open house on June 24 from noon to 2 p.m. Those attending the event can meet camp counselors; take mini camps in improv, acting and special skills, tour the theater, and register for summer camps, which begin during the second week of July. Students attending the event will receive a $30 discount if they register for camp on the day of the open house! Students attending the open house will also meet Russell Ferrara who will share his love of ukulele with students and encourage them to begin a life long habit — playing an instrument!
