July 27 Arts in the Parks: The Parks department presents a concert in the barn with “Peter Errich” on Thursday, July 27, at 6 p.m. Peter will be joined by friends, and will offer an acoustic concert featuring his original music that can be described as soft-rock with a rootsy sound. No rain date. $5 per car. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets and bring along picnic suppers. Light refreshmen­ts will be available on site. Gerrymande­ring talk: The League of Women Voters Berks County will host a Gerrymande­ring Talk in Morgantown, Berks County, on July 27 at 6 p.m. The Fair Districts PA presentati­on on gerrymande­ring/redistrict­ing will be held at the Village Library, 207 N. Walnut St., Morgantown. The event will inform attendees about gerrymande­ring, the practice of drawing districts to benefit one political party over others. Attendees will learn about the mechanics of gerrymande­ring, its impact on communitie­s, and how proposed solutions can ensure future elections and more accurately reflect the votes of citizens. League member and Fair Districts PA speaker Jill Greene will present the one-hour informatio­n session followed by questions and answers. This magnificen­t historic house, built around 1730 as the mansion for the ironmaster of the Colebrookd­ale Furnace, houses numerous spirits from its rich past.
