Residents escape units unharmed, but are left homeless
LOWER POTTSGROVE » A fire that broke out in the early morning of March 6 has left three mobile homes damaged.
According to reports from the scene, a multialarm fire damaged three mobile homes in Shaner’s Trailer Park on the 3000 block of East High Street.
When police arrived, they found a fully involved fire and at least eight fire companies were called to fight the fire in freezing conditions.
A 100-pound propane tank burned for about 90 minutes as firefighters worked to cool it down with hose lines to prevent an explosion.
Authorities said two adults and two children were able to escape one mobile home that had been completely destroyed and one adult in each of the other homes that were heavily damaged were also able to escape on their own.
No injuries were reported in the blaze.
Officers assisted neighboring homes with evacuations, according to Lower Pottsgrove Police.
