Bears hammer Norristown

Bears rack up 13 hits in Liberty Division rout

The Boyertown softball team needed just four innings to rack up 15 runs, 13 hits and a 15-0 Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division win over Norristown on Thursday, April 12.

Mackenzie Shaner finished 3-for-3 with a solo home run, two runs scored and three RBI while Kylie Hertzler was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI-double. Caitlin Keenan finished 3-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI. She also picked up the win in the circle, limiting the Eagles to just four

hits and striking out eight. CENTRAL BUCKS SOUTH 2, BOYERTOWN 1 » Kylie Hertzler hit an RBI single and Allison Melahn yielded just two runs through six innings’ mound work, but the Bears fell short of the Titans in their non-league game on April 14.

INTERBORO 6, BOYERTOWN 0

» The Bucs’ Bridget Bailey dazzled with a 14-strikeout, 3-hit shutout of the Bears in non-league play on April 9. Bailey also went 2-for-4 with an RBI while Billy Kerwood had two hits and two RBI as Interboro broke away with a four-run fifth inning, chasing Boyertown starter Alex Schaefer (4.2 IP, 7 hits, 5 R, 3 ER, 6K, 3 BB).

Allison Melahn (double), Veronica Maryanski and Kylie Hertzler each had a hit for Boyertown.

BOYERTOWN 14, UPPER

PERKIOMEN 1 » Austyn Levengood drove in four runs off 3-for-4 hitting as the Bears needed just 4-½ innings to dispatch the Indians in their PAC divisional crossover game on April 13.

Levengood’s batting day featured two triples and three runs scored. Mike Martin (3-for-3), Jake Decesare and Mitchell Peers (2for-2) also drove in pairs of runs to supert Jared Waldman’s four-hit, six-strikeout pitching for the win.

BOYERTOWN 15, UPPER MERION 7 » Mike Martin and Mike Hohlfeld hit homers while Sam Longacre finished 4-for-4 during the Bears’ PAC divisional crossover win against the Vikings on April 11.

Martin finished with two hits and two runs scored while Hohlfeld was 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. Longacre had three RBI and two runs scored while Drew Hartman picked up the pitching win with three innings of work.

BOYERTOWN 10, INTERBORO

4» Nick Moccia and Mason Turner each scored three times to lead the Bears to a PAC win over the Bucs on April 10.

Brady McFalls, Brewer Johnson and Skylar Wallace each chipped in with a goal and an assist while Alex Axman scored once.

Girls lacrosse

BOYERTOWN 16, SPRINGFORD 5 » Sydney Fox scored six times to lead the Bears to a PAC Liberty Division rout of the Rams on April 11.

Hayden Corcoran, Amanda Diachynsky (assist), Kristy Kada (assist) and Ashley Dierolf added two goals apiece while Kylie Webb had a goal and two helpers. Kasey Fox and Sarah Didget combined for 15 saves in net. Cassie Marte led Spring-Ford with three goals while Olivia Yeagle posted a goal and two assists.

BOYERTOWN 10, EXETER 9 » The Bears hung on for a non-league win over the Eagles on April 9.

Amanda Diachynsky scored three goals, Hayden Corcoran and Kylie Webb added two apiece to lead Boyertown.

Boys track

OWEN J. ROBERTS 95, BOYERTOWN 54 » Liam Conway, Aidan Hayward and Brendon Arcara were the big winners for the Wildcats in their PAC Liberty Division meet with the Bears on April 11.

Conway took the 1,600 (4:30.1) and 800 (2:02.9), Hayward headed the shot put (45-8 ½) and discus (133-11) and Arcara swept the 300 intermedia­te hurdles (45.7) and 110 high hurdles (17-9). Boyertown had a two-win performer of its own in Ethan Michaels, who won the high jump (5-10) and the triple jump (37-0).

Girls track

OWEN J. ROBERTS 103, BOYERTOWN 47 » Corrin Ferrizzi and Sam Muntzer each won two events to head the Wildcats’ showing in their PAC Liberty Division meet with the Bears on April 11.

Ferrizi headed the long jump (15-6) and triple jump (35-4), with Muntzer doing the same in the 300 intermedia­te hurdles (50.1) and the 100 low hurdles (17.3). Boyertown’s lone firsts came from Aurora Conrad in the 200 (28.1), Jen Fretz in the shot put (30-10 ½) and Kayla Yacavone in the discus (111-4 ½).
