GoFourth! Fes­ti­val to have larger Royal Court

Fundrais­ing con­tin­ues to help bring back fire­works to fes­ti­val

The sec­ond an­nual Pottstown GoFourth! Fes­ti­val will be held on July 4, and to reach its money goal, the fes­ti­val’s com­mit­tee has cre­ated a new event.

The Pottstown GoFourth! Royal Court is now open to 2017 Home­com­ing Kings and Queens from Pottstown, Potts­grove, Owen J. Roberts, Boy­er­town and Spring-Ford high schools. Par­tic­i­pants must raise money through their own fundrais­ing ven­tures. All funds are to be handed in by the end of the busi­ness day June 29 at VIST bank, 258 E. High St., Pottstown.

The King and Queen who bring in the most money will be named the Pottstown GoFourth! King and Queen. The sec­ond high­estearn­ing King will be named the Prince, and the sec­ond high­est-earn­ing Queen will be named the Princess.

All mem­bers of the GoFourth! Royal Court will have the op­por­tu­nity to ride in the 4th of July Pa­rade, which is hosted and spon­sored by the Pottstown Ro­tary Club.

Court mem­bers will be crowned on stage at the Pottstown GoFourth! Fes­ti­val on July 4, be­fore the fire­works dis­play. They will also re­ceive two passes for VIP/re­served seat­ing at the fire­works show and a Pottstown GoFourth! Fes­ti­val gift bag.

All par­tic­i­pants re­ceive a Pottstown GoFourth! Fes­ti­val T-shirt.

Pottstown stu­dents are be­hind the ef­fort. The com­mit­tee is look­ing for the other school dis­tricts to back it as well.

Other events sched­uled on July 4 in­clude:

• Noon-8 In­flat­able Rides/At­trac­tions

• Noon-3 Grand­pop Bub­bles - Per­for­mance Artist/ Bub­ble-Maker Ex­traor­di­naire

• 2-4 Fab­u­lous Faces Face Paint­ing Artist

• 3-5 Wacky Patti - Bal­loon Artist

• 4-8 Levram the Great Colo­nial Con­jurer/roam­ing en­ter­tainer

There will also be lo­cal non-profit or­ga­ni­za­tion ven­dor, games, prizes, and give­aways through­out the day. Mu­si­cians will also be there, as fol­lows.

The com­mit­tee is still look­ing for do­na­tions to en­sure ev­ery­thing hap­pens. GoFourth! has reached $40,000 out of the in­tended bud­get.
