Ar­ti­san demos free to all at The Cor­ner Shoppe

The Cor­ner Shoppe will host sev­eral ar­ti­san demon­stra­tions in the near fu­ture which are free for any­one to at­tend.

June 8 from noon to 3 p.m. At­tract­ing but­ter­flies to your back yard

June 12 from noon to 3 p.m. Cro­chet­ing demo, in­clud­ing a free cro­cheted item for any­one who makes a pur­chase dur­ing the demo

June 14 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Gourd bird­house paint­ing demo

June 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jew­elry mak­ing

June 20 from noon to 3 p.m. Glass blow­ing demo

June 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Pot­tery mak­ing

Th­ese ar­ti­san demos are part of The Berks County Best Kept Se­crets Tour, which is a tour of gift shops, gar­den cen­ters and cafes through­out the county from June 7 to 23. You do not have to pur­chase a ticket for the tour to view the demon­stra­tions. Tick­ets are $10 and can be pur­chased at The Cor­ner Shoppe. The Cor­ner Shoppe is a gift shop serv­ing our lo­cal area for over 20 years and rep­re­sent­ing dozens of lo­cal artists, car­ry­ing fair trade and re­cy­cled items as well as unique jew­elry, home dé­cor and antiques. The shop is housed in a re­stored 1850s Colo­nial Re­vival home at the in­ter­sec­tions of Philadel­phia Av­enue, Swamp Pike, Route 73 (Big Road) and Gil­bertsville Road, across from the Gil­bertsville Post Of­fice. A 1920s era Sunoco gas sta­tion is also part of the shop and con­tains gifts for men. The shop is lo­cated at 1500 E. Philadel­phia Ave. in Gil­bertsville.
