BOYERTOWN 10, TWIN VALLEY 0, JUNE 24 » Nolan Kline and Steve Xanthopoul­os combined on a two-hit shutout with no walks as the Bears defeated the Raiders, 10-0, in a makeup of a game from early in the season. The Bears scored 9 runs in the first two innings, then ended the game on the Mercy Rule when pinch-hitter Jared Waldman delivered an rbi-single in the bottom of the sixth nning to drive in pinch-hitter Patrick Wieand with the final run. Sean Sutterby went 3-for-3 and Billy Coleman added 3 hits (including a pair of doubles, the second of which set up Waldman’s game-ending hit) to spearhead the 14-hit Boyertown attack.

BOYERTOWN 5, LOWER SOUTH 4, JUNE 30 » Shayn Horrocks had 2 hits (including a triple) and scored three times as the Bears defeated Lower South, 5-4. Four pitchers combined on a 5-hitter for the Bears. BOYERTOWN BEARS 9, SOUTHERN AREA 5, JULY 1 » The Bears were outhit 9-5, yet defeated the Marlins by the same, 9-5 score. The Bears drew 10 walks in the victory, Caleb Harrison typified Boyertown’s offense, as he drew 3 walks in 3 plate appearance­s. Tony Xanthopoul­os and Sean Sutterby combined for the pitching efforts for the Bears. The game was halted after 6 innings.

DOWNINGTOW­N DIAMOND DOGS 4, BOYERTOWN BEARS 2, JULY 1 » Two outs away from a 2-1 loss, the Diamond Dogs strung together 3 consecutiv­e doubles to take the lead, then added an insurance run on a bloop single to defeat the Bears, 4-2. Evan Williams started the seventh-inning rally with his second double of the game. Dylan DiRocco got the win in relief for Downingtow­n. Shayne Horrocks had a pair of hits for the Bears, including a triple. (Record: 10-4, 20-8)
