The 2018 Kutztown Fair will be a wild and wooly time at the Kutztown Fairgrounds Aug. 13 to 18.

From fabulous food, that includes the Restaurant all you can eat buffet, to many different sheep demonstrations from shearing to spinning to fleece to yarn demonstrations, plus hundreds and hundreds of animals, music, a tiger show and the rides.

Come in listen to the music, have dinner, mix and mingle with friends and neighbors all week long.

You can learn all about exotic tigers at the Close Encounters of the Exotic Kind. This educational outreach program is geared to help young and old learn about Tigers and the work being done to enhance and protect their habitat. This show happens twice daily at the Midway Stage area, and three times on Children’s Day, which is Saturday.

Tap you feet and clap your hands, the Main Stage is filled with great music each night. Monday night local favorite Cramer Brothers Band will perform. Tuesday Smith Compound Band will light up the stage starting at 7 p.m. Then Wednesday night The Rehrig Brothers Band will serenade the crowd. If country music is your thing, then join the fair Thursday evening for Laredo to belt out the tunes on the Main Stage. Friday night country music sensation Chad Reinert will perform songs from the heart on the Main Stage. And finishing out the week long musical performances is Remmington Ryde. They will stroll onto the Main Stage at 7 p.m. Saturday.

Each and every day there are special animal competitions and contests from Icy Tea chugging to wool pulls, and pedal tractor pulls, there is something for everyone to do and compete for a blue ribbon at the fair.

Saturday is Children’s Day. This day is loaded with special events and activities that highlight the theme WILD & WOOLY. There is a scavenger hunt, a sheep shearing demonstration, a LEGO building contest, plus the farmer for a day tent. The children’s day activities will culminate with the drawing of children’s prizes. Every child on the fairgrounds can receive a special ticket to be entered in the drawing. They must be at the drawing at the Main Stage to win.
