Community Dog Park Dedication: Upper Frederick Township will hold a dedication and grand opening celebratio­n for the Speelhoffe­r Community Dog Park, a 7-acre dog park located at 271 Colonial Road, Perkiomenv­ille, Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to noon. Church 90th Anniversar­y Celebratio­n: Holy Trinity Orthodox Church, Mervine and Juniper streets, Pottstown, will celebrate its 90th anniversar­y as a parish serving Orthodox Christians in Pottstown and environs Sunday, Aug. 26. Parishione­rs will gather for a hierarchic­al Divine Liturgy at 9:30 a.m. His Eminence, Archbishop Mark, of the Diocese of Philadelph­ia and Eastern Pennsylvan­ia, will be the main celebrant along with Archpriest John Edward, the parish rector, and the parish deacons, Protodeaco­n Peter Skoog and Fr. Deacon John M. Black. Archbishop Mark will be greeted by the children of the parish with the customary bread and bouquet of flowers. Archbishop Mark will serve at Vespers Saturday, Aug. 25, at 6:30 p.m.

Living History Sundays: Visit Pottsgrove Manor every Sunday in August from 1 to 4 p.m. to bring history to life with hands-on learning and fun. Discover a different history trade or skill. Staff and historic interprete­rs invite visitors of all ages to join in the hands-on learning and find out how history is still alive today. See if you can stand the heat of the kitchen to help the cook prepare dishes over the hearth. Tour the kitchen garden to realize how the plants can be used for food, flavor and medicine. Touch and feel the different kind of textiles people made and used in the 18th century, and try your hand at making a few. Ask the gunsmith or the horn-smith about their period trades. Spinning, tape weaving, sewing and more promise to get the whole family involved. Plus, colonial toys and games, which run each week, complete the 18th century fun. The Living History activities will vary week by week, so be sure to check montcopa.org/pottsgrove­manor or call 610326-4014 to discover what will be happening. These programs welcomes all ages; suggested donation $2 per person. The programs will be held rain or shine. Pottsgrove Manor is located at 100 W. King St., Pottstown.

Good Night at the Manor: Uncover the evening work and routines of the Potts family and their household staff with the new exhibit Good Night at the Manor, which will run through Sunday, Nov. 11, at Pottsgrove Manor, 100 W. King St., Pottstown. Tours of the exhibit will be given during regular museum hours. Admission is free, but donations are appreciate­d. PMMC Offering Free Child Care Safety Check: Pottstown Memorial Medical Center is offering free car seat safety checks on the third Friday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Goodwill Ambulance Company, 714 E. Child Certified Passenger Safety Technician­s and trained volunteers will check child car seats for: recalls and damage; best fit for weight, height, and age; and will teach installati­on techniques. Celebrate Recovery: The newest ministry at Hopewell Community Church, 1130 Commerce Drive, Pottstown, will “Celebrate Recovery” through meetings every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Celebrate Recovery deals with Hurts, Hang Ups, and yes Habits. It is a twelve step program, unlike other programs we know who our “higher power” is, the one and only God and it is biblically based. We will honor Jesus and Praise Him. All of the studies will emphasize forgivenes­s and salvation. The “Eight Principles” are based on the Beatitudes for the purpose of leading all who attend on the path toward recovery.
