WEST POTTSGROVE » West Pottsgrove Police are reminding residents to lock their homes after a recent rash of burglaries in the township.

Police sent out a statement Aug. 27 indicating that five incidents involving burglaries of area homes were reported on Aug. 25. In three of those incidents, the suspects were able to gain entry into the homes through unlocked first floor windows. The other two incidents were reported attempts, police said.

The burglaries occurred between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. at homes on the 200 block of Grosstown Road and the 400 block of Fairview Street.

Police did not specify if anything was taken during the burglaries.

“We are asking all residents to lock all first floor windows and doors and report any suspicious activity. We have increased over night/targeted patrol in the area,” wrote West Pottsgrove Police Chief Matthew Stofflet in an email.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to contact Detective Roeder with West Pottsgrove Police Department at 610-3232090.
