Summer Concert:

Pottstown Area Artists Guild Event:

Dane Tilghman, a premier African-American painter who paints about sports, jazz and the African-American experience, will talk about his art and what it took to be a success in the art world Tuesday, Sept. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Boyer Gallery at The Hill School Center For The Arts, 760 Beech St., Pottstown. Tilghman will be sharing some anecdotes about the ups and downs in his journey in art. The Pottstown Area Artists Guild is sponsoring this talk. This event is free and open to the public.

Latin Festival:

Centro Cultural Latinos Unidos will hold a Latin Festival Saturday, Sept. 22, from noon to 5 p.m. at Riverfront Park, 140 College Drive, Pottstown. The festival will feature live music; authentic cuisine from Chile, Ecuador, Mexico, El Salvador, Puerto Rico and Guatemala; activities for children and families; vendors; and beer from Sly Fox. Upper Frederick Township Community Day:

Upper Frederick Township Community Day will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at the township building, 3205 Big Road, Zieglervil­le. The event will include a petting zoo, pony rides, a clown, an obstacle course, a moonbounce, a candy cannon, a giant hamster ball, face painting, a rock wall, a bungee trampoline, free document shredding, a chili cookoff (preregistr­ation required, children’s crafts, a used book sale, raffles, good and live music. Good Night at the Manor:

Uncover the evening work and routines of the Potts family and their household staff with the new exhibit Good Night at the Manor, which will run through Sunday, Nov. 11, at Pottsgrove Manor, 100 W. Pottstown Memorial Medical Center is offering free car seat safety checks on the third Friday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Goodwill

Celebrate Recovery: The newest ministry at Hopewell Community Church, 1130 Commerce Drive, Pottstown, will “Celebrate Recovery” through meetings every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Celebrate Recovery deals with Hurts, Hang Ups, and yes Habits. It is a twelve step program, unlike other programs we know who our “higher power” is, the one and only God and it is biblically based. We will honor Jesus and Praise Him. All of the studies will emphasize forgivenes­s and salvation. The “Eight Principles” are based on the Beatitudes for the purpose of leading all who attend on the path toward recovery.
