Police investigate food delivery robberies
LOWER POTTSGROVE >> Police are investigating after an armed robbery was reported near Walnut Ridge Estates.
Police said in a post Thursday that at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Halloween, Lower Pottsgrove Police responded to a report of an armed robbery in the 3800 block of Walnut Ridge Estates.
Initial investigation found that a female food delivery driver had been dispatched to make a food delivery to a home on the block. Upon arrival, the driver met a person described as a black male, about 5 feet, 6 inches to 5 feet, 8 inches tall, wearing black Adidas sweatpants with a hooded sweatshirt. The man is believed to be in his mid 30s with scruffy facial hair and was armed with a handgun.
The suspect held the victim at gunpoint and demanded all the cash she was carrying and then walked away on foot with the food order toward the rear of the 3800 block of
Walnut Ridge Estates, police said. The victim fled the area and called police.
A search of the area was unsuccessful in locating the suspect.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and may be related to another armed robbery that took place at approximately 11:15 p.m. in Rolling Hills
development of another food delivery driver.
Police are requesting anyone with information to contact them at 610326-1508.
Police are also cautioning merchants making deliveries in this area to be aware of the recent robberies and take measures to avoid becoming a victim. Police are warning drivers to be particularly careful if the caller is not a repeat customer.
