Pottsgrove Manor by Candleligh­t: Tour Pottsgrove Manor as it is illuminate­d by candleligh­t and decorated for the yuletide season Sunday, Dec. 9, from 2 to 8 p.m. See the house come alive as living history interprete­rs invite one and all to take part in the merriment of the holidays. Enjoy seasonal favorites such as the desserts that are a staple of Twelfth Night. Celebrate with the household servants and uncover the traditions of Boxing Day. Test your wit and memory in the parlor games of the 18th century and find out if you can sing along with the historic music. Kids of all ages are invited to take a piece of the holiday spirit home with a make-and-take craft. Visitors should follow the signs for parking at Pottstown Memorial Park, 75 W. King St. There they can board a shuttle that will take them to Pottsgrove Manor. The program welcomes all ages, and there is a suggested $2 donation per person. All are encouraged to dress for the weather as part of the tour does include being outdoors. Pottsgrove Manor by Candleligh­t will be held weather permitting. Pottsgrove Manor is located at 100 W. PMMC Offering Free Child

Care Safety Check: Pottstown Memorial Medical Center is offering free car seat safety checks on the third Friday of every month from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Goodwill Ambulance Company, 714 E. High St., Pottstown. Child Certified Passenger Safety Technician­s and trained volunteers will check child car seats for: recalls and damage; best fit for weight, height, and age; and will teach installati­on techniques. Celebrate Recovery: The newest ministry at Hopewell Community Church, 1130 Commerce Drive, Pottstown, will “Celebrate Recovery” through meetings every Wednesday at 7 p.m. Celebrate Recovery deals with Hurts, Hang Ups, and yes Habits. It is a twelve step program, unlike other programs we know who our “higher power” is, the one and only God and it is biblically based. We will honor Jesus and Praise Him. All of the studies will emphasize forgivenes­s and salvation. The “Eight Principles” are based on the Beatitudes for the purpose of leading all who attend on the path toward recovery.
