Community Events

Summer Concert Series at the Kimberton Park Amphitheat­er, 2202 Kimberton Road, hosted by East Pikeland Township. Please remember to bring blankets or chairs. Future performanc­es include the Mighty Manatees on Thursday, July 18, and the Whiskey-hickon Boys on Thursday, Aug. 15. Concerts run from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Sponsors for the Summer Concert Series include Kimberton Whole Foods, Cure Pennsylvan­ia, Marchesani State Farm, Phoenixvil­le Federal Bank and Trust, and Theurkauf Design and Planning. The series is organized by the East Pikeland Township Park and Recreation Board.

Pottstown Area Stamp Club

will meet at 7 p.m on Monday, July 1, at the Tri-County

Active Adult Center, 288 Moser Road. The program will be a DVD on trains. Anyone interested is welcome to attend.

60th Class Reunion: The Pottstown High School Class of 1959 will hold its 60th Class Reunion on Sept. 20, 21 and 22 for a weekend of fun, catching up and remembranc­e. The weekend will kick off with an excursion on the Colebrookd­ale Railroad, a visit to the Stone Barn Cellars Winery, a sumptuous buffet at Sunnybrook Ballroom and a whimsical visit to the Pottstown Carousel. The Reunion Committee has been unable to locate some classmates. Anyone who has not received a letter, please contact Louise (Fakete) Boyer at 484-644-5140 for more informatio­n.

50th Class Reunion: The Pottstown High School Class of 1969 will be holding its 50th reunion from Friday, Oct. 25, through Sunday, Oct. 27, with various events scheduled each day. Brookside Country Club will be hosting a buffet for the class on Saturday, Oct. 26. Deadline for reservatio­ns is June 15. Science in the Summer: July 1 and 2. A free hands-on science program provided by GlaxoS-mith-Kline. 2019 will feature “The Science of Me!” Classes for students entering grades two and three will be from 10 a.m. to noon, and classes for students entering grades four through six will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Registrati­on is online only at fi.edu/ scienceint­hesummer.

Contempora­ry folk musician Savannah King will be performing at Chaplin’s in Spring City on Friday, June 28. Also appearing with King are Stella Ruze and Shabby Road.
