Marion Local football blanks Cedarville

The Marion Local Flyers wanted to establish the offense early and they did just that Friday night. Behind the passing from Carson Griesdorn the Flyers were able to jump out to a 48-0 halftime lead and with a touchdown in the third quarter the Flyers defeated the Cedarville Indians 56-0 in the Division VII tournament.

“We wanted to establish ourselves early tonight,” Flyers head coach Tim Goodwin said. “It has been two weeks since we have played so we were excited

to play.”

Kyle Otte did the dirty work on the found for the Flyers in the first half as he ran a total of five times for 91 yards and three touchdowns, two on the ground and one receiving.

It didn’t take long for Marion Local to get on the board.

After stopping Cedarville on a three and out, Marion took the punt at the Indian38. Otte ran for a yard and then broke through the middle for a 37 yard touchdown. The extra point kick by Kevin Partington made the score 7-0 with 9:37 left.

Another three and

out by Cedarville led to another Flyer touchdown.

Starting at the Indian 18 a false start penalty moved the ball back to the 23 where Griesdorn completed a perfect pass to Kyle Otte for a touchdown. The kick made the score 14-0 with 7:26 left. Griesdorn completed his first six passes 89 yards.
