Austin Larger, son of Marc and Amy Larger, was nominated for his work at Barhorst Woodworks by his high school guidance counselor, Melissa Utrup.
Utrup nominated
Austin because he wasted no time rolling up his sleeves and got right to work learning the delicate trade of woodworking.
Through the agribusiness work study program at Minster High School, Austin has been perfecting the skills he has learned in the classroom at Barhorst Woodworks for the past two years.
“Through this partnership, Austin has strengthened his ability to a balance a busy schedule between school, work and other activities,” said Utrup.
When visiting Barhorst Woodworks, Austin was found immersed in his work delicately sanding a cabinet door.
“Austin has been a great addition to our team,” said Aaron Barhort, owner of Barhorst Woodworks. “He is very reliable and is a great employee.”
After graduation, Austin plans to continue working at Barhorst Woodworks while pursuing his real estate license.
