Winners from Country Fest announced

Thanks to the generosity of some local companies, the Country Fest was able to donate $20,000 to the Mark Heinl Scholarshi­p Fund. A bowl designated to the scholarshi­p was bid on by Dynamic Weld, Moeller Trucking, Pleiman Landscapin­g, Tuente Trucking, Winner Meats, Countrysid­e Consultati­on, Reliable Tent, Moeller Door and Window, J’s Concrete, WTL Trucking and Tuente Farms to raise the $20,000.

Winners in 2021 Coldwater won the Quarterbac­k Challenge with St. Marys taking 2nd place and Lima Shawnee getting 3rd place.

The Diaper Derby winner was Rose Tobe, daughter of Scott and Michelle Tobe.

The attendance prize went to Elijah Ronnebaum, son of Matt and Katie.

Mini Indi winners were Emmett Pence, 6, Beau Alexander, 5, and Leo Schmiesing, 4. Winners of the two bicycles were Addison Eyink and Brenda Winner.

There were 296 runners in the 5k. The best time was Dillan Schulz with a time of 18:45. The best female time was Ashley Lefeld with a time of 18:52. The youngest runner was six years old while the oldest runner was 81 years old.

Winners of the raffle were Annie Knappl, $2,000 or trip; Deborah Meyer, $500; Janet Rindler, $300; Howard Bruggeman, $200; Ron Arling, $100 and Dave Frenzer, Rick Bertke, Linda Fesenmyer, Dave Arkenberg and Brian Kremer all won $50.

The Maria Stein Country Fest would like to thank all the visitors, sponsors and volunteers who came and enjoyed another Country Fest.
