Pumpkin People return ahead of this weekend's Pumpkinfest
NEW BREMEN — The Pumpkin People have returned to the streets and yards of New Bremen.
This fall marks the 14th year for the New Bremen Pumpkin People as local businesses have begun to showcase their displays ahead of the annual New
Bremen Pumpkinfest.
Taking place at the Crown Pavilion along the banks of the Miami and Erie Canal in New Bremen, Pumpkinfest is a family-friendly event that features activities that will delight all visitors while offering beverages, several food trucks, a variety of children’s activities and more.
The New Bremen Pumpkinfest is known nationwide. In 2010, organizers baked a 20-foot in diameter pumpkin pie that is featured in the Guinness Book of World Records. Additionally, in 2011, the Weather Channel filmed
the event and aired it on national television.
The seventh annual Artisan Showcase & Marketplace in New Bremen, will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sept. 25, running simultaneously with Pumpkinfest.
The marketplace will highlight items for sale from 15-plus artisans who create jewelry, ceramics, contemporary art, reclaimed furniture, wood, fine soaps and more.
The Artisan Showcase & Marketplace will once again feature a wine bar (with wine flight options), student art display, kid’s activities, wine tasting class and wine bag burning classes.
The Student Art Show, which is by invitation only to the local high schools, will occur on Saturday and the showcase’s vendors vote on the art and award a high school student with “Best in Show.”
Returning this year, will be the wine tasting classes accompanied with a charcuterie cup and delicious sweet treat. An additional class has been added to accommodate for the overwhelming interest that was received.
