German Heritage Days return

FORT LORAMIE — The 17th Annual Fort Loramie German Heritage Days Festival will be held this weekend on Sept. 24 and Sept. 25.

The festival returns after taking a year off, like many other festivals, because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The festival was canceled in August

of last year.

Beer and food stands will open at 4 p.m. and DJ Obie will be performing starting at 4 p.m.

From 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Frank Svet Munich Express will take over the Main Stage with Freelance playing from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Gazebo.

ACT-3 will take over and close out the Main Stage from 9 p.m. to midnight with a 50/50 drawing being conducted at 11 p.m.

On Saturday, registration for the car show begins at 9 a.m. with the event scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and run to 2 p.m. and and beer and food stands open at 10 a.m.

Registration for the the Point 5K opens at 10 a.m. and the race will begin at 11 a.m.

The Fort Loramie Historical Museum opens at noon and Greg Shipley will be speaking in the Cabin.

From 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Jim McGowan will perform in the Gazebo.

Adam Ranly will perform in the Gazebo from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The Main Stage will be graced by Frank Svet Munich Express for a second day and Ohio Brewed will perform on the Main Stage from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Stein Hoisting will be at 8 p.m.

The 50/50 drawing takes place at 11 p.m. and the park closes at midnight.

Beers available include: Hofbrau Original, Hofbrau Dunkel, Hofbrau Oktoberfest, Paulaner Hefe, Paulaner Lager, Warsteiner Drunkel and much more.

Food will include brats, whole hog sausage, cabbage rolls, sauerkraut, hot pretzels with cheese, cheese curds, reuben bites and classics like hot dogs and hamburgers and many other options.
