Fort Loramie boys, girls capture titles

PIQUA — Fort Loramie’s boys and girls track teams each won Div. III district titles over the weekend at Piqua’s Alexander Stadium.

Both teams qualified a slew of athletes for the Division III regional meet following the Redskins’ performanc­e at Piqua.

The girls team finished in first with 159 points, 64 more than second place finisher Dayton Christian.

The boys team won the meet with 93 points, just edging out Ansonia (91) and Twin Valley South (87).

The top four finishers in each event qualified for the regional meet

BOYS

Frank Rethman placed second in the 400 meter dash (49.82).

Colin Gasson and Trey Ranly went 1-2 in the 800 meter run with times of 2:02.46 and 2:02.80 respective­ly.

Colten Gasson won the mile with a time of 4:36.60.

Gavin Kemper placed second in the 110 meter hurdles (16.27) and Ethan Sherman was seventh (17.56).

The 4x400 meter relay team won with a time of 3:29.92 and the 4x800 team won with a time of 8:44.14, beating second place Covington by more than 10 seconds. The 4x100 meter relay team placed sixth with a time of 47.46.

Ryan Hoelscher placed second in the high jump (6 feet, 2 inches).

Jacob Sherman was eighth in the long jump (18 feet, 6.25 inches).

Kemper won the pole vault with a vault of 14 feet, 8 inches and Luke Holthaus was fourth (12 feet, 6 inches).

GIRLS

Sunni Voisard was third in the 100 meter dash (13.66). Macy Timmerman finished eighth (14.29).

Viola Bornhorst was fifth in the 200 meter dash (28.16).

Ella Boerger and Harley Eilerman went 3-4 in the 400 meter dash with respective times of 1:04.72 and 1:05.10.

Mylee Shatto and Claire Rethman finished 1-2 in the 800 meter run with respective times of 2:23.62 and 2:23.99.

Rethman won the mile (5:32.29) and Kaitlyn Grilot was seventh (6:15.27).

Audrey Wrasman placed third in the 100 meter hurdles (17.52) and Audrey Wrasman was fourth (17.70).

Lauren Moore and Colleen Borchers were 1-2 in the two-mile with times of 12:10.20 and 12:38.47.

Ariel Heitkamp placed fourth in the 300 meter hurdles (50.85).

The 4x200 meter relay team won with a time of 1:50.28, the 4x400 team won with a time of 4:14.83, the 4x800 team won with a time of 9:49.11 and the 4x100 meter relay team finished third (52.32).

Riley Heitkamp jumped 5 feet, 2 inches in the high jump and placed second. Wrasman was fifth (4 feet, 10 inches).

Abby Wrasman was fifth in the long jump (15 feet, 6.5 inches) and Audrey Wrasman was sixth (14 feet, 11.5 inches).

Heitkamp placed second in the pole vault (10 feet) and Eilerman was sixth (9 feet).

Julian Gaier placed fourth in the shot put (31 feet, 2.25 inches) and Morgan Deweese was seventh (29 feet, 4.75 inches).
