100 Years Ago March 23, 1923 Mr. Ferd Feldman who has been one of the leading chicken raises in this locality for the past several years, has added to his equipment a New Town incubator that has a capacity of 3,600 eggs.

The merchants in Minster have agreed to close their stores on Good Friday between the hours of 12 o’clock, noon and 3:00 o’clock p.m.
75 Years Ago March 19, 1948 New Maria Stein Unit to Further Activities There – 42 Citizens Form Group To Maintain Facilities For Athletics – A group of 42 citizens of Maria Stein community has formed the Maria Stein Athletic association, to be incorporated into a non-profit organization to assure maintenance of athletics facilities in the Mercer county village.
Minster chapter, Future Farmers of America, rated gold in the district parliamentary procedure contest, and Alfred Lehmkuhl, representing the chapter in public speaking, won first in that event, qualifying him to compete with the winners of the other 16 districts of Ohio in the state contest.
Henry Feldman was elected president of the board of the Minster Farmers’ Cooperative Exchange. He succeeds Frank Frierott who retired after 10 years as head of the firm. Richard Kaiser was named as vice president, which office was held last year by Mr. Feldman. Bernard Boecker, Sr. was reelected as secretary and treasurer.

Mrs. Robert Treon of Minster, a coloratura soprano is very interested in music She is the daughter of Frank Miller, Versailles. A resident of Minster 10 years, Mrs. Treon studied voice with Ralph Thomas, Dayton, Dianna Durbin’s voice teacher. 50 Years Ago March 22, 1973 Minster Band Earns Superior – On March 17 the Minster Band traveled to Delphos, Ohio to participate in the Ohio Music Educators Association Band and
Chorus competition District III. The Minster Band came home with a I or superior rating.
American Legion Observes 54th – The Minster American Legion observed the 54th Anniversary with a cocktail hour, banquet and social meeting. The Legion was founded 1919 during a caucus of representatives of the various outfits of the World War I American Expeditionary Force in Paris, France.
Marion Presents “Big Time” Wrestling – Some of the area’s residents will have the opportunity to see “Big Time” wrestling at Marion Local High School. The matches will be presented by the Athletic Association of Marion Local and will feature Mighty Igor and Lou Klein Vs. Von Hess and Von Shotz. There will be girls, girls, girls.
Kick Off Dinner Success at Calvary – Approximately 120 members of Calvary Chapel of Minster met at the Union Hall for their “Kick-off” dinner in support of the church’s bonding program going into effect. Mr. Hudson explained how the purchase of church bonds being sold at 8 percent interest will finance the proposed building of $90,000.
