BLUE JAYS 4, Royals 0: George Springer hit two home runs, Alek Manoah pitched seven dominant innings and the Blue Jays beat the Royals for their third straight win. Activated off the 10-day injured list before the game, Manoah allowed just two singles. Springer jumped on Mike Minor’s first pitch of the game and hit it into the second deck in left field.

Athletics at ANGELS (late): Chris Bassitt became the first American League pitcher to reach 11 wins, Matt Chapman homered and the Athletics shut out the Angels in a 2-0 victory on Friday. The A’s, who have won 11 of 14 against the Angels this season, have shut them out in three straight.

Astros at GIANTS (late): José Altuve hit a grand slam in the sixth one inning after putting Houston ahead on a solo homer, and the AL-leading Astros held off the Giants 9-6 on Friday in a matchup of baseball’s top two teams.

Orioles at TIGERS (late): Matt Harvey extended his shutout streak to 181⁄3 innings, and Pedro Severino homered twice, leading the Orioles to a 4-3 win over the Tigers on Friday.

Yankees at MARLINS (late): Newly acquired Anthony Rizzo homered in his debut with the Yankees, who beat the Marlins 3-1 on Friday.

Red Sox at RAYS (late): Tampa Bay ace Tyler Glasnow is expecting to get a recommenda­tion from doctors next week to have Tommy John surgery that would keep him out the rest of this season and possibly next year. Tampa Bay has 14 pitchers on the injured list.

Cubs at NATIONALS (late): Josh Bell and Luis García homered, and the Nationals defeated the Cubs 4-3 on Friday, hours after both franchises completed trade deadline teardowns.

Mariners at RANGERS (late): Logan Gilbert worked into the sixth to win his fifth decision in a row, fellow rookie Jarred Kelenic hit a three-run homer, and the Mariners beat the Rangers 9-5 on Friday.

Phillies at PIRATES (late): Wil Crowe and two relief pitchers combined on a one-hitter, and the Pirates snapped a four-game losing streak with a 7-0 win over the Phillies on Friday.

Cleveland at WHITE SOX (late): Tim Anderson delivered a tiebreakin­g single, José Abreu was hit in the head by a pitch with the bases loaded and the White Sox rallied for two runs in the eighth to top Cleveland 6-4 on Friday.

Reds at METS (late): Mets ace Jacob deGrom is being shut down for two more weeks because of inflammati­on in his pitching elbow. Joey Votto homered for the seventh straight game on Friday, putting the Reds star within one of the major league record.

Twins at CARDINALS (late): Tommy Edman drove in three runs with a bases-loaded double, Wade LeBlanc pitched 52⁄3 strong innings and the Cardinals beat the Twins 5-1 on Friday.

Brewers at BRAVES (late): Avisaíl García, Willy Adames and Eduardo Escobar hit home runs and the Brewers overcame the worst start of the season by Corbin Burnes to beat the Braves 9-5 on Friday.

Dodgers at DIAMONDBAC­KS (late): Asdrúbal Cabrera hit a looping double into left field that scored Daulton Varsho in the 10th and the Diamondbac­ks beat the Dodgers 6-5 on Friday.

Rockies at PADRES (late): Padres star shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. left Friday’s game in the first inning with a partially dislocated left shoulder.
