Learn more about the other Student of the Week nominees:
Renelleda Saint Hilaire, Ballard High School: In one word, Renelleda is AWESOME! She is the epitome of what a Ballard student should be. She excels in her academics, currently has a 4.12 weighted GPA, but she’s more than just academics. She also gives back to Ballard in so many ways. She is involved in numerous clubs including BSU, NHS, FBLA, and FCA, holding leadership positions in most of them. She was chosen by her peers to be senior class president and has been instrumental in being their voice and planning activities for them that will make their senior year memorable as it should be at Ballard. She represents Ballard in the community as a student ambassador, where she talks to prospective students about Ballard. She is in two pathways at Ballard − the business marketing pathway and the cinematography and video production pathway. She is invaluable to us at Ballard, and we know she is destined for greatness.
Itzel Gonzalez Trujillo, Oldham County High School: As a peer tutor in our English Language Learner Program, Itzel is always there and readily available to lend her talent and translate on the spot to not only assist the teacher, but her peers as well. She is wise about it though. She lets them try themselves first because she knows this is the only way they will learn, but when necessary, she jumps in to help out.
