LOUISVILLE - Stanley Edward Emberton, 90, of Louisville, KY passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Stanley was born on July 28, 1933 in the small community of Etoile in Barren County, Kentucky. The 2nd of 10 children born to the late Emmett A. Emberton and Ruby Irene Nabors Emberton. He was the epitome of what a husband, father, and grandfathe­r should be. Stanley was a strong, kind, gentle man who found joy in the simple things of life a good book, bluegrass music, running the campground at Smith’s Ridge Green River and what a storytelle­r he was. Stanley was inducted to the Armed Forces on July 8, 1953, Corporal Chief, serving until his separation date of June 25, 1955. He loved his family unconditio­nally and always provided a secure loving home. The love and respect his family have for him is a testimony of the life he lived and the great man he was. Stanley left Barren County at the age of 18 to find work in Louisville, KY as so many young men did in those days. While there, he met the love of his life, Edna Marie Merideth. They married on January 23, 1953. From this union, they were blessed with four children. Stanley retired from Coffee Break Inc in 1998. Stanley was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Marie Emberton and 2 grandchild­ren; siblings, J.B. Emberton, Billy Emberton, Rex Emberton, and Arnold Emberton. Stanley is survived by his loving children, Paul Emberton, Mark (Sandy) Emberton, Suzanne (Tim) Dickerson, and Lisa (Mike Preston) Myers. He is also survived by nine grandchild­ren, twenty three great-grandchild­ren, and four great great grandchild­ren. He is also survived by siblings, Harold Emberton, Steve Emberton, Ruth Jolly, all of Glasgow, Brenda Dismon of Fountain Run, and Jim Emberton of Versailles, KY. Visitation will be Friday, April 19, 2024 from 12pm until 8pm at Arch L Heady Funeral Home in Okolona with his funeral service on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery immediatel­y following the funeral service.
