Lucille M. Samick, 98, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of 74 Erie Avenue, St. Marys and West Creek Road, Emporium, passed away Monday, April 18, 2022, at Elk Haven, after a brief illness.

She was born January 17, 1924, in St. Marys, daughter of the late George and Marcella Hanes Wagner. Lucille was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys High School, Class of 1942. She was a retired employee of Sylvania, retiring after more than 20 years of service, and was a member of the Queen of the World Church.

On May 21, 1946, in the Sacred Heart Church, Lucille married Florian J. “Stony” Samick, who preceded her in death on March 1, 2018.

She is survived by two daughters: Christine Lilja of Brockway and Jean Krug (Donald) of Port Allegany; her son, John M. Samick (Barbara) of St. Marys; five grandchild­ren: Jacqueline Manno (Jim), Jeffrey Lilja (Megan), Jason Krug (Deirdre), Adam Krug (Jessica), and Michael Samick (Amber); 17 great-grandchild­ren; three sisters: Lorraine McMackin of St. Marys, Betty Decello

of St. Marys, and Nancy Kronenwett­er of Pittsburgh; and by her brother, George Wagner (Ann) of St. Marys.

In addition to her husband and parents, Lucille was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Samick in 1974; three sisters: Mary Jane Kelly, Shirley Niedzwieck­i, and Barbara Gradl; and by two brothers: William and Charles Wagner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Queen of the World Church on Friday, April 22, 2022, at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be held at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday morning, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
