Ridgway man facing drug-related charges
A Ridgway man is currently incarcerated and facing drugrelated charges after allegedly selling heroin/fentanyl in the Elk County area earlier this year.
Paul Stephen Iorfido, 40, of 877 Evergreen Dr., Ridgway, is facing charges in relation to the incident, according to an affidavit of probable cause filed at the office of Magisterial District Judge Mark Jacob in St. Marys.
On May 8, an officer with the City of St. Marys Police Department
arranged for a confidential informant to make phone contact with Iorfido and make arrangements to purchase heroin/fentanyl from Iorfido in exchange for $150.
A surveillance detail was conducted, and the confidential informant was observed providing Iorfido with $150. Later that same day, Iorfido was observed meeting with and ultimately providing the confidential informant with seven glassine bags of heroin/fentanyl. The bags were later tested by the PSP crime laboratory and were found to contain fentanyl, a Schedule II controlled substance.
The exchange of money and seven bags of fentanyl reportedly occurred in the area of Brusselles Street in St. Marys.
Preliminary arraignment for Iorfido was held at 12:10 a.m. on Nov. 17 before Judge Jacob.
Iorfido is facing one ungraded felony charge of manufacture, delivery, or possession with intent to manufacture or deliver; one third-degree felony charge of criminal use of communication facility; and one ungraded misdemeanor charge of intent to possess a controlled substance by a person not regulated.
Bail for Iorfido was set at $10,000 monetary. Unable to post bail, Iorfido was incarcerated at Elk County Prison.
A preliminary hearing for Iorfido is scheduled to be held at 3 p.m. on Nov. 29 before Judge Jacob.
