POLICE REPORT
State police at Ridgway Crash
FOX TWP. – PSP Ridgway reports investigating a crash at 1:37 p.m. on Feb. 23 on Skyline Drive near Lilja Lane in Fox Township. According to PSP, this crash occurred as a 1991 Ford Taurus operated by Jennifer L. Divers, 44, of Falls Creek, was traveling north on Skyline Drive behind a 2012 Chevrolet Malibu operated by Joshua C. Longhi, 36, of Kersey. Longhi made an abrupt stop and Divers failed to notice, with the Ford subsequently striking the Chevrolet. Both operators were wearing their seatbelts and refused treatment. The Ford had to be towed from the scene. Assisting on scene was D&T Towing. Divers was cited for a traffic violation.
Crash
RIDGWAY TWP. – PSP Ridgway reports investigating a crash at 7:43 a.m. on Feb. 25 on Water Street Extension in Ridgway Township. According to PSP, this crash occurred as a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox operated by a 17-yearold Ridgway female was traveling on Water Street Extension. The Chevrolet was traveling west when the operator began to lose control due to the winter conditions. The Chevrolet struck a ditch and subsequently overturned onto its roof. Assisting on scene were Johnsonburg VFD, Wilcox VFD, and Wally's Towing. The Chevrolet was towed from the scene.
Assault – bodily injury, no weapon
RIDGWAY TWP. – At 7:36 p.m. on Feb. 12, PSP Ridgway was dispatched to Montmorenci Road in Ridgway Township for a report of a domestic in progress occurring on the roadway. The vehicle belonging to the suspects, a 2017 KIA, was later stopped, and both suspects, Karen Kelly, 41, of Reynoldsville, and a 38-year-old Reynoldsville man who was not publicly identified by PSP, were taken into custody. Kelly was listed as an arrestee while the male was listed as a victim.
Corruption of minors
RIDGWAY TWP. – On Feb. 9, PSP Ridgway received a Childline report involving an adult having inappropriate contact with a minor in Ridgway Township. The victim was listed as being a 14-year-old Johnsonburg female. The investigation continues.
Crash
JAY TWP. – PSP Ridgway reports investigating a crash at 4:04 p.m. on Jan. 22 on SR 255, Bennetts Valley Highway, at its intersection with Pine Avenue in Jay Township. According to PSP, this crash occurred as a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by Haylee L. Berry, 18, of Force, was on Pine Avenue at the intersection of SR 255 stopped at the stop sign, and a 2010 Chevrolet Malibu operated by David E. Claypoole, 70, of Byrnedale, was traveling south on SR 255. As Claypoole was traveling south on SR 255 and approaching the Pine Avenue intersection, Berry failed to ensure the intersection was clear of traffic before pulling out. The Chevrolet then struck the left side of the Jeep, causing disabling damage to both vehicles. Three occupants of the Jeep including Berry, passenger Kaylena J. Stiles, 21, of St. Marys, and a minor female from St. Marys, and Claypoole, the lone occupant of the Chevrolet, were all transported to Penn Highlands DuBois for further medical treatment. Robin L. Huff, 39, of Force, was also listed as being a passenger in the Jeep but was reportedly not injured or transported. Assisting on scene were the St. Marys Ambulance Service, Bennetts Valley Ambulance, Amserv Limited Dusan Ambulance, Jay Township VFD, Penfield VFC, and D&T Towing. Berry was cited for PA/VC 3323 (B) duties at stop signs and 3714 (A) careless driving. Stiles, the owner of the Jeep, was cited for PA/VC 1575 (A) permitting violation of title for violation of PA/VC 1786 financial responsibilities.
Theft retail/ shoplifting
FOX TWP. – On Feb. 10 at 4:53 p.m., PSP Ridgway investigated a report of a retail theft that occurred at Walmart in Fox Township. After further investigation, it was determined that no theft had occurred due to a malfunction with the selfcheckout machines. The items carried from the store have since been paid for. Listed as stolen were various grocery items valued at $101.13.
Crash
ST. MARYS CITY – PSP Ridgway reports investigating a crash at 9:41 p.m. on Feb. 18 on Glen Hazel Road in the City of St. Marys. According to PSP, this crash occurred as a 20177 Ram 1500 operated by Lukas J. McClain, 22, of Ridgway, was traveling east on Glen Hazel Road toward St. Marys. The Ram was navigating a left hand curve in the roadway at a speed too fast for conditions. McClain was unable to negotiate the turn at the speed he was traveling. Subsequently, the Ram left the right side of the roadway, traveled off the right side of the roadway, and hit a tree, The Ram hit the tree at the 12 o'clock position and came to final rest against the tree.
Corruption of minors
RIDGWAY BORO – PSP Ridgway investigated a Childline report on Front Street in Ridgway Borough at 7:56 p.m. on Feb. 9. The victims were listed as being a 12-year-old female and a 14-year-old female, both of Ridgway. This investigation continues.
Crash
JONES TWP. – PSP Ridgway reports investigating a crash at 2:30 a.m. on Feb. 18 on Stony Hill Road, 1,175 feet north of Glen Hazel Road, in Jones Township. According to PSP, this crash occurred as a 1989 Buick Reatta operated by Daniel L. Spuck, 54, of Wilcox, drifted off the road, hit a culvert on the east side berm, struck an embankment, flipped on its roof, and then slid to its final rest position.
Drug possession
RIDGWAY TWP. – At 4:01 p.m. on Feb. 19, troopers at PSP Ridgway initiated a traffic stop on a 2013 Chrysler on Montmorenci Road/Mason Run Road in Ridgway Township due to a Title 75 violation. Following a search of the vehicle, a small amount of marijuana was seized. The arrestee was listed as being a 29-year-old Philadelphia woman who was not publicly identified by PSP. Charges were filed at 59-3-02.
