Daniel Paul Cortina

Daniel Paul Cortina, age 73, of Force, PA, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, January 21, 2024. He was born May 19, 1950 to the late Robert and Marguerite (Winkler) Cortina.

Daniel was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, brother and son. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Marylin (Burke) Cortina and his brother, Robert Cortina. He is also survived by his six children, Sara Cortina, Andrew (Kimberly) Cortina, Emily (Andrew Flock) Cortina, Daniel “D.J.” Cortina, Rebecca (Keith Total) Cortina and Leanna (Jay Launer) Cortina; his ten grandchildren, Allison, Karmen, David, Danny, Lydia, Elijah, Madeline, Carter, Averi and Aria; together, they carry forward his legacy of love, strength and family bond.

Daniel is a graduate of Bennetts Valley High School Class of 1969. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and his family. Daniel loved the ocean and spending time outdoors. He enjoyed long car rides, caring for his animals and was always up for a relaxing campfire.

His memory will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.

Public visitation will be held from 1 – 3 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024; and also from 9 – 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the Ralph M. Geer Funeral Home of Penfield, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church of Force, PA, with Father Mark Mastrian, celebrant.

Interment will take place in the St. Joseph Church Cemetery.

Military Honors will be accorded by the Bennetts Valley American Legion Post 978 Honor Guard.
