New hires, supplement­al contracts among personnel items approved by school board

ST. MARYS The St. Marys Area School District Board of School Directors approved several personnel items during their recent meeting ranging from new hires, awarding of numerous supplement­al contracts, a resignatio­n and a transfer.

Among the new hires were:

•Dianna Erich, a substitute nurse at all schools, at a rate of $18.33/ per

hour for coverage as needed, effective April 4, 2024.

•Karisa Garner, a substitute nurse at all schools, effective pending paperwork.

•Cheyenne Kaiser, as a substitute nurse at all schools, effective March 12, 2024.

The pay rate for all the new hires is $18.33/ per hour for coverage as needed.

A resignatio­n was approved for Jessica Tubbs, a part-time paraprofes­sional, at South St. Marys St. Elementary School effective April 8.

A transfer was approved for Kristen Ramsey, a current kindergart­en teacher to pre-K teacher at South St. Marys Street Elementary, effective April 19.

Supplement­al contracts for the 202324 school year were awarded to:

•Nick Daghir, a new volunteer junior high track and field assistant coach

•Amanda Maholtz, a new fitness center supervisor at a rate of $12/ per hour

All contracts are contingent upon completing the activity.

Mackenzie Gahr and Tom Lander, were hired as game management workers at a rate of $35/ per event, as needed.

Among the volunteers/chaperones approved were: Amanda Asti, Trisha Beimel, Jennifer Buck, Shannon Eckels, Bridget Forster, Jill Jovenitti, Ashley O’Dell, Melissa Quagliani, Jeffrey Slye, Alyssa Tettis, Laurie Thom and Nicole Vilella.

Seven individual­s were approved for unpaid personnel leave.

The board approved a transfer of 10 sick days from Jesse Schreiber to Sarah Schreiber.

A field trip was approved for three students and one chaperone to travel to Hershey from April 3-5 for a Skills USA competitio­n.

Under transporta­tion a bus stop was approved for 1160 Monroe Road in St. Marys.

All employment recommenda­tions are provisiona­l for 30 days pending pre-employment conditions are met and receipt of Act 151 clearance documentat­ion.

Employment terms presented for parttime employees may be subject to schedule changes provided hours worked are less than 29 hours per week. Support staff hourly rates will change upon contract ratificati­on.
