SMA junior high track teams compete at Bison Stampede

The St. Marys Area junior high girls’ and boys’ track and field teams were in action in Clearfield on Monday afternoon at the Bison Stampede Junior High Track Invitation­al.

The Dutchmen placed second in the boys’ meet, and the Lady Dutch placed fourth in the girls’ meet.

In the boys’ 100 meter dash, Dom Catalone finished 14th in 13.18 seconds and Jonathan Farabaugh finished 16th in 13.45 seconds.

Chase

VanAlstine won the boys’ 200 meter dash in 25.19 seconds. Also for the Dutchmen, Jonathan Farabaugh finished 12th in 29.50 seconds.

Jacob Sloppy finished 12th in the boys’ 400 meter dash in 1:09.34.

Carter Dynda won the boys’ 800 meter run in 2:25.06. Max Jovenitti finished third in 2:35.01, and Ryan Penn finished 14th in 2:52.42.

Carter Dynda also won the boys’ 1600 meter run, finishing in 5:12.13. Gavin Henry finished third in 5:41.28, and Ryan Penn finished 10th in 6:12.67.

Max Jovenitti was the runner-up in the boys’ 3200 meter run, finishing in 12:31.33. Also for the Dutchmen, Mack Vollmer finished 11th in 15:18.54.

In the boys’ 110 meter hurdles, Jackson Wehler finished third in 18.93 seconds, and Christian Sines finished ninth in 21.43 seconds.

In the boys’ 300 meter hurdles, Jonathan Farabaugh finished sixth in 54.94 seconds, and Christian Sines finished eighth in 57.58 seconds.

The Dutch 4x100 meter relay team finished third in 52.14 seconds.

The team of Jackson Wehler, Carter Dynda, Gavin Henry, and Chase VanAlstine won the 4x400 meter relay in 4:01.13.

The team of Max Jovenitti, Jacob Sloppy, Carter Dynda, and Gavin Henry won the 4x800 meter relay in 10:01.06.

Chase VanAlstine won the high jump, clearing 5’2”. Gavin Henry finished third, clearing 4’10”, and Christian Sines finished 14th, clearing 4’4”.

Christian Sines finished eighth in the long jump with a jump of 16’2”.

Jackson Wehler finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 35’8”.

In boys’ discus, Nico Assalone finished ninth with a throw of 82’5”, Wyatt Thompson finished 18th with a throw of 54’6”, and Blake Kronenwett­er finished 20th with a throw of 49’1”.

Peyton Wendel won boys’ javelin with a throw of 108’9”. Also for the Dutchmen, Nico Assalone finished 13th with a throw of 72’10”, and Dom Catalone finished 17th with a throw of 66’9”.

In boys’ shot put, Blake Kronenwett­er finished 13th with a throw of 26’6”, Nico Assalone finished 18th with a throw of 23’10”, and Wyatt Thompson finished 24th with a throw of 15’5”.

In the girls’ 100 meter dash, Macy Wendel finished sixth in 14.70 seconds, and Adriana Vollmer finished 12th in 15.26 seconds.

Gianna Brouse finished 13th in the girls’ 200 meter dash in 34.12 seconds.

In the girls’ 400 meter dash, Macy Wendel finished sixth in 1:13.83, Kalyssa Annis finished 12th in 1:17.62, and Tabitha Schreiber finished 14th in 1:18.24.

Mia Azzato finished fourth in the girls’ 800 meter run in 2:47.59, and Keira Assalone finished seventh in 2:56.49.

In the girls’ 1600 meter run, Mia Azzato finished fifth in 6:23.11, and Keira Assalone finished ninth in 6:36.93.

In the girls’ 100 meter hurdles, Kalyssa Annis finished fourth in 19.70 seconds, and Mavis Caskey finished eighth in 20.01 seconds.

The team of Mia Azzato, Mavis Caskey, Macy Wendel, and Keira Assalone finished fourth in the 4x400 meter relay in 5:01.67.

The team of Mia Azzato, Tabitha Schreiber, Keira Assalone, and Macy Wendel finished third in the 4x800 meter relay in 11:41.98.

Mavis Caskey finished third in the girls’ high jump, clearing a height of 4’4”.

In the girls’ long jump, Adriana Vollmer finished third with a jump of 13’9.5”, Giada Piccirillo finished 12th with a jump of 12’1.5”, and Lola Smith finished 14th with a jump of 11’11”.

In girls’ discus, Emma Samick finished 18th with a throw of 29’9”.

The St. Marys Area junior high squads are next scheduled to be in action on Saturday when they host the St. Marys Junior High Track and Field Festival beginning at 10 a.m.
