SMA track and field teams compete in Brookville

The St. Marys Area girls’ and boys’ track and field teams were back in action on the road on Tuesday, traveling to Brookville Area High School for a meet that also included teams from Keystone.

In the girl’s meet, St. Marys defeated Brookville 84-66 and Keystone 105-42. Brookville defeated Keystone 96-49.

In the boys’ meet, Brookville defeated St. Marys 103-41 and Keystone 107.5-42.5. St. Marys defeated Keystone 96-54.

Gabby Pistner won the girls’ 200 meter dash in 27.26 seconds and teammate Lucia Hayes was second in 28.04 seconds.

Pistner won the girls’ 800 meter run in 2:30.22, with teammates Mary Defilippi and Megan Shine second and third in 2:34.61 and 2:46.12, respectively.

The Lady Dutch also swept the top three spots in the 1600 meter run. Raechel Braun won the event in 5:34.35, Kelsie Bellotti was the runnerup in 5:59.88, and Shine finished third in 6:04.32.

Maura Caskey won both girls’ hurdles events. Caskey had a winning time of 16.82 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles and a winning time of 48.59 seconds in the 300 meter hurdles. Emma Garstka was the runner-up in the 300 hurdles in a time of 56.66 seconds.

The Lady Dutch won the girls’ 4x400 meter relay in 4:37.72 and the girls’ 4x800 meter relay in 11:27.00.

In the field events, Rylee Nicklas won both girls’ shot put and girls’ discus. Nicklas had a winning throw of 31’3.5” in shot put, with teammate Jillian Kline taking third with a throw of 27’8”. Nicklas had a winning throw of 106’3”in discus, with teammate Izzy Collins taking third with a throw of 100’10”.

James Pistner won the boys’ 400 meter dash in a time of 51.79 seconds.

Jacob Nedimyer won the boys’ 1600 meter run in 4:42.29 and his teammate Brandon Henry was the runner-up in 4:46.82.

Andew Field won the boys’ long jump with a jump of 20’9”, and his teammate Ben Reynolds was the runner-up with a jump of 19’9”.
