Groton— Richard D. Clang Sr., 82, husband of Natalie (Church) Clang of 83 Blue Hill Road, Bozrah, died Thursday at Groton Regency.

Born in Norwich on July 26, 1929, he was the son of the late Felix and Edith (Mcgreavey) Clang. A U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict, he was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal. Prior to his retirement he was the owner-operator of the Windcrest Poultry Farms. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially with his grandchild­ren, and also enjoyed wintering in Florida.

On Aug. 12, 1950, at Sacred Heart Church in Norwichtow­n, he was united in marriage to Natalie (Church) Clang, who survives along with one son; Richard D. Clang Jr. and his wife, Colleen, of Lebanon, two daughters, Lorie-ellen Wesolowski and her husband, James, of Lebanon, and Lisa “Lee” Regan and her husband, Joseph, of Stonington; five grandchild­ren, Alex, Adam, Mitchell, Cooper and Sofia. Three brothers, David Clang of Hilton Head, S.C., Joseph “Pete” Clang of Bozrah and Raymond Clang of Oregon, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by three brothers, Phillip, Robert and James Clang.

A Memorial Mass will take place on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church; West Town Street, Norwichtow­n, meeting directly at the church. Interment to follow with military honors in Bozrah Rural Johnson Cemetery.
