AVERY-COPP HOUSE IS OPEN FOR TOURS
The Avery-Copp House will be open to the public for guided tours through Oct. 12.
The historic house, built in the colonial style in the early 1800s and Victorianized at the turn of the century, tells the story of generations of an American family that lived there for 200 years, complete with original furnishings. Two Victorian gazebos sit above the house on the terraced lawns overlooking the Thames River.
The house is at 154 Thames St. in the Groton Bank National Register Historic District and is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults; children under 12 get in free.
