Beverly Olsen

Montville — Beverly Ann Olsen, 81, of Uncasville died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.

She was born in New London, June 24, 1934, the daughter of Cloyd and Helen (Finnegan) Tillett. She was the wife of Donald Olsen, who survives her.

Mrs. Olsen was a parishioner of St. John the Evangelist Church in Uncasville. She was retired, having been employed as a registered nurse for Dr. Wool in New London and at Connecticut College. She was a 1952 graduate of New London High School.

In addition to her husband Donald, she is survived by three sons, David Olsen of Palo Alto, Calif., and his wife Mykhanh, Daniel Olsen of Medway, Mass., and his wife Kathie, Douglas Olsen of Durham, N.C., and his wife Rachel; four daughters, Deborah Rota of Clinton and her husband John, Diana Kass of Springfield, N.J., and her husband Larry, Donna Olsen and Jay Arcata of Paterson, N.J., Denise Hall of Ashaway, R.I. and her husband Jeffery. She has nine grandchildren, Rachael and Rebecca Rota, Megan and Gretchen Olsen, Wesley and Lisa Hall, Lucas and Mitchell Olsen, and Declan Olsen. These 24 people were the focus and joy of her life.

She was predeceased by her brothers, William and Donald Tillett. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 9, at St. John the Evangelist Church, 22 Maple Ave., Uncasville. Interment will be at a later date. Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Ocean Ave., New London.
