East Lyme — Florence V. Corona, 95, of Niantic, passed away on May 1, 2016, at Bride Brook Health and Rehabilita­tion Center.

She was born in Hadley, Mass., on March 27, 1921, to the late Jacob and Mary (Dubiel) Dec.

After high school, she moved to Hartford and worked at Arrow-Hart & Hegeman Electric Co., for several years.

On April 15, 1947, Florence married Nicholas D. Corona, who passed away on June 26, 2006. They lived in Hartford and Pompano Beach, Fla., and made their permanent home in Giants Neck Beach, Niantic, in 1971.

Florence was a longtime communican­t of St. Agnes Church in Niantic. She worked as a teacher's aide at Flanders School in East Lyme for many years, where she made numerous friends among the students and staff. She retired in 2001 to care of her husband.

Florence is survived by her sons, Larry (Laurie), Richard (Helena), and Nicholas; and her grandchild­ren, Emily Corona-Carter (Kerry), Brittany, Nicole, and Michael. She also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchild­ren, Giovanni and Layla.

Besides her husband and parents, she was predecease­d by her sisters, Katherine Subenski, Josephine Maksimoski, Susie Alleva, and her brother, Jacob Dec.

The family is most grateful to the entire staff of Bride Brook Health and Rehabilita­tion Center for the kind and compassion­ate care that was provided to Florence during her stay since August 2015.

Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2016, at the Thomas L. Neilan & Sons East Lyme Funeral Home, 48 Grand St., Niantic. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at St. Agnes Church, 22 Haigh Ave., Niantic. Those attending Mass should go directly to the church. Burial will be in East Lyme Cemetery, Boston Post Road, East Lyme.
