Westerly — William Greenspan, 69, of Westerly and Pembroke Pines, Fla., husband of Janet (Jensen) Greenspan, died Tuesday, June 28, 2016.

A loving husband and father, he was born in the Province of Letche, Italy, and immigrated with his parents to Israel after World War II. In 1960, again he immigrated to the United States and lived in Norwich for 45 years, eventually residing in Westerly.

He was a U.S. Air Force veteran who served honorably in Vietnam from 1966-70. During his time in the service, William earned multiple technical degrees. Following his honorable discharge, he worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Hartford as an inspector of military engines until his retirement.

William enjoyed spending time at his home in Florida, traveling, playing golf, but especially being with his family. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his father, Zelig Greenspan; three daughters, Lisa Greenspan and her life partner, Michael Beebe and Rebecca and Sarah Greenspan; his three stepchildr­en, Jeannie Harrington (Tod), Daniel Dion (Kelly) and Rebecca Engleman (Brian); and grandchild­ren Zachary, Chloe, Julia, Keira, Matthew, Benjamin, Corbin and Wesley.

He was predecease­d by his mother, Janet (Abraham) Greenspan.

His family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 1, followed by a service at 11 a.m. at the Mystic Funeral Home, Route 1, Mystic. Burial with military honors will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery in Mystic.
